Police and Crime Commissioner says UK theatre tour won’t impact role

  • Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner Colin Sutton has defended his decision to embark on a nationwide theatre tour featuring over 100 dates.
  • The Reform UK PCC and former Metropolitan Police detective was elected less than two months ago and will present his live show, The Makings Of A Murderer – Double Jeopardy.
  • Critics including Labour MP Ben Goldsborough questioned the decision, arguing that a county cannot be policed from the back of a tour bus.
  • Sutton insisted the tour would take place in his spare time, taking up only two-hour stage slots without impacting his strategic role in setting priorities and budgets.
  • Sutton confirmed his main priority remains Norfolk, where he is preparing a new policing plan focused on tackling rural crime for release in October.
