'Pokemon TCG Pocket' Unveils 'Mega Shine' Expansion

The Pokémon Company is taking the shine to the next level with "Pokémon TCG Pocket's" upcoming "Mega Shine" expansion that was recently revealed by the company.

This new themed booster pack brings new Shiny variants to new Pokémon, but more importantly, to the Mega Evolution Pokémons in the game.

The new Themed Booster Pack may be smaller compared to others, but it delivers a massive new expansion to gamers, featuring one of the most famous Mega Evolutions in the franchise, Mega Gengar ex.

Under Mega Shine, not only is Mega Gengar ex coming to the game, but also a Shiny version of the character in full art format.

Some of the other new Pokémon cards coming in Mega Shine include:

  • Mega Charizard X EX
  • Mega Charizard X EX (Shiny variant)
  • Mega Gengar EX
  • Mega Gengar EX (Shiny variant)
  • Dragonair (Shiny variant)
  • Pineco (Shiny variant)
  • Ponyta (Shiny variant)
  • Zorua (Shiny variant)
  • Phione
  • Empoleon
  • Slowpoke
  • Morpeko
  • Scyther
  • Haxorus
  • Calem (Trainer)

What and When to Expect the Mega Shine Drop?

Apart from the poster character of Mega Shine, a Mega Charizard X ex is also coming to the game, alongside a Shiny version of the Pokémon, also in full art design.

Mega Genger ex's regular and Shiny variant brings the "Labyrinth of Shadows" attack, which deals 120 damage (requires 3 Dark energy and 1 Colorless energy) to opponents and prevents them from using any Trainer cards on their next hand.

That said, Mega Gengar ex only has 210 HP, which is relatively low compared to other ex.

Mega Charizard X ex, on the other hand, has the Raging Blaze attack that has a base damage of 100 (requires 3 Fire energy) but deals an extra 80 damage to opponents who have half HP or less. This version of the Pokémon has 220 HP.

The new themed booster pack is dropping for "Pokémon TCG Pocket" on March 25, 2026, at 6 p.m. PDT.
