We're still two weeks in the new year and there's a lot of events still happening this January in Pokémon GO. However, it looks like there's no stopping Niantic as the studio has revealed details of the February 2024 Community Day. The highlight is going to be Chansey, who's appearing more frequently in the wild. Trainers lucky enough may even get to encounter a Shiny version.
The Community Day is going to be on February 4 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., local time. For the duration of the event, trainers who evolve Chansey can get a Blissey which knows the Charged Attack Wild Charge. Details of Wild Charge are:
- Trainer Battles: 100 power and guaranteed to decrease the User's Defense.
- Gyms and raids: 90 power
Event Bonuses
For this upcoming Community day, there's a lot of bonuses to enjoy. These include:
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 1/4 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in Incubators during the event period.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
- Lure Modules activated during the event lasts for three hours.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event lasts for three hours.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise.
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day.
- Trades need 50% less Stardust.
Aside from what's already mentioned, trainers can also look forward to the chance of Happiny hatching from 2 km Eggs obtained during February Community Day. Happiny which hatch from these Eggs have the same chance of appearing as a Shiny Pokémon as Chansey that appear during February Community Day.
Bonus Raids
Like with most Community Day events, trainers can enjoy special four-star Raid Battles from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., local time. Those who win in one of these raids can cause Chansey to appear for 30 minutes in around the Gym which hosted the raid. To join these raids, trainers need Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes. Remote Raid Passes though can't be used to join these Raid Battles.
Community Day Special Research story
Trainers are also invited to be part of a Chansey Community Day–exclusive Special Research story. However, they'll need to get a ticket priced at $1. The good news is that they don't need to do it alone since they can buy and gift tickets to friends. The only catch is that they'll need to have obtained Friendship level of at least Great Friends.
