Tadej Pogacar sealed a record-equalling fifth Tour de France title on the streets of Paris but he also played a key part in a thrilling final-stage victory for Mathieu van der Poel.
The 27-year-old, affectionately known as "Pogi", only needed to avoid a race-ending mishap on the run into Paris on Sunday but he was in no mood to coast to victory.
Van der Poel and Pogacar attacked on each of the three trips up the cobbled climb to Montmartre and the pair desperately fought to hold off the peloton over 10 gruelling final kilometres before the line in arguably the most exciting finish in the race's storied history.
