Podiatrist shares two shoes he'd 'never wear' including one that causes 'claw toe'

Our feet go through a lot - much more than we give them credit for - and for that reason, we should look to take care of them as much as we can.

The best way to respect our feet is by choosing appropriate shoes that aren't going to give us problems in later life, and that's why a podiatrist has shared different types of shoes that he would never wear if you want healthy feet.

Paul the podiatrist, who posts on TikTok under the same name, shared two shoes that he'd avoid as they can be bad for your overall foot health.

He said that he would avoid wearing flip-flops as you have to "grip the shoe and that can cause claw toeing", which doesn't sound pleasant.

Paul also said that it's "very easy to trip and fall" when you wear these shoes as they "don't offer your feet any support."

Paul decided to wage war on stiletto shoes as well - but with very good reason.

He said: "I don't want to hate on all heels because a one-and-a-half-inch heel is okay for most people, but stilettos, have such a thin base."

Paul went on to say that his colleague fell recently and broke her foot thanks to these shoes, referring to them as "high risk", and asking people "Is it worth it, even to look nice?"

In the comments, some people defended the different shoes.

One wrote: "As a Filipino I'm sorry to tell you number one is considered a 'myth' for us. We've been wearing slippers (flip-flops) since forever. We're good lol."

"I thought Crocs would be on the list", another joked.

"Glad he didn't mention Crocs", someone commented.

"I wore slippers (flip-flops) on a hike", a TikToker admitted. "Was okay going up but my arches were killing me going down."
