The Jacksonville Jaguars have a busy month ahead with the draft less than three weeks away. They will hold the first overall pick for the second consecutive year, which means they desperately need to hit on this class.
Like all teams, the Jags have started the process of prospect visits this month. Some of the players on their list include Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson, Alabama’s Evan Neal, and Georgia’s Travon Walker among notables.
In Episode 6 of the “Touchdown Jaguars!” podcast, Jags Wire’s Phil Smith and I discussed these visits and some others and what the Jags could be thinking when looking at the overall group of visits. We also discussed the retirement of longtime veteran Brandon Linder to start the show.
Lastly, we tackled a big discussion about the Jags’ stadium situation after the team sent out a survey to gauge what fans are looking for with the upcoming renovations. The survey came as the Buffalo Bills are set to build a new stadium, making the Jags the only team not to build a new stadium or have major renovations (defined as $400 million or more) since the mid-90s. That said, we looked at the blueprint made by the Bills (because they are a small market team, too) and what information the Jags and their fans may take from it.
