Sebastien Pocognoli says that the short-term pain suffered by Scotland now can deliver long-term success for the national side, with the Belgian hoping the Tartan Army will look at the bigger picture rather than focusing on the disappointing home defeat to Slovenia.
Pocognoli acknowledged that the performance of his team in a second successive Hampden loss of his short reign was not good enough, and the new Scotland manager said he was well aware that it leaves his team staring down the barrel of a third-place finish in their Nations League group, and subsequently, a place in pot three for the forthcoming European Championship qualifiers.
