PM Narendra Modi likely to visit Telangana again soon

HYDERABAD: Even as the BJP is upbeat that three of their national leaders including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda visiting the state in a span of just 40 days indicating that Telangana is on their priority list, the state BJP leaders are optimistic that the PM would visit the state again soon.

Modi reportedly told BJP leaders that if his schedule allows, he will likely pay another visit to the state before the state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar concludes his padayatra, sources said.

Interacting briefly with the party leaders at Begumpet airport on Thursday, he stated that the top brass of the party is always available to them and that they can approach them at any time.

The PM also inquired about the health of Bandi Sanjay and advised him to prioritise his health during the ongoing padayatra. Modi has reportedly told the leaders to complete all the booth-level appointments, according to a top source.

Though the BJP planned a huge rally in view of Modi's visit to Hyderabad, it was cancelled due to a lack of security clearance. However, the PM's five-minute speech scheduled at the airport, went on for more than 15 minutes, delighting the party leaders, activists and sympathisers.

"Three top national leaders visited the state in a row; nothing like that if PM visits again," a party leader said.
