Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hailed the BJP’s electoral gains across the country, saying the party’s rise reflected people’s trust in “nationalistic politics” and development-oriented governance, while attacking the Congress for its declining political fortunes.
Addressing BJP workers in Bengaluru, Modi said the National Democratic Alliance’s return to power in Puducherry and Assam, along with the BJP’s breakthrough performance in West Bengal, marked a major political shift in the country.
