The Plus Two higher secondary and vocational higher secondary examinations will get under way in the State on Wednesday.
All arrangements have been completed for the examinations, a statement from the higher secondary examination board said on Tuesday.
The examinations will be held in 2,005 centres within the State and outside. Though 4,33,325 students have registered for the Plus Two examinations, only 70,440 students will take the examinations in 907 centres on day 1 when students will be tested in subjects such as sociology and anthropology.
On Friday, 4,19,640 students will sit for the examinations in the 2,005 centres for Chemistry, History, Islamic History and Culture, Business Studies, and Communicative English that day.
A total of 2,005 chief superintendents and 22,139 invigilators have been posted for the smooth conduct of the examinations. Vigilance squads will function to ensure that the examinations are being held without any hurdles.
The vocational higher secondary examinations too will begin on Wednesday. In the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) regular category, 30,158 students will take the examination, and in other categories 1,174. In all, 31,322 students will sit for the examinations in 389 centres.
A Principal of a higher secondary school in the city said question papers had been received, verified, and stored safely. Invigilators too were ready. Students had been given necessary instructions.
Online PTA meetings had been conducted to pass on exam-related directions to parents. COVID-19 protocols would continue to be followed. Masks and sanitisers had been arranged in schools.
The Plus Two examinations will continue till April 26.
The SSLC examinations will begin on Thursday. As many as 4.27 lakh students will sit for the SSLC examinations in 2,962 centres. A total of 8.91 lakh students will appear for the SSLC and Plus Two examinations this year.
