Plumes of smoke have been seen after fire engulfed land near to New Brighton waterfront.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) was alerted to a fire on grassland on King's Parade at 1.37pm and crews arrived at the scene at 1.47pm. Officers have used beaters to put out flames in the area, which measures 100m by 50m.
One fire engine is currently in attendance, however MFRS told the ECHO that the scale of the fire means that officers could be on the scene for some time.

Footage shows smoke rising from the scorched land while part of a nearby fence has been consumed by flames. Officers could also be seen damping down the fire with hoses.
