Pls Pray For This TikToker Who Took A Bite Of A Temu Croissant Lamp To Confirm It Was Pastry

A TikToker was extremely surprised to discover that the croissant-shaped lamp she received from Temu was actually a real croissant preserved in resin. And, well, that’s how you get ants.

TikTok user @froginahatgirl shared the buttery discovery in a now-viral video on Tuesday, after noticing that ants were crawling in and amongst a pastry-shaped lamp she had displayed in her room.

“I got this Temu lamp as a gift from my sisters. I put it in my room and I came home from work after a hot day and there were hundreds of ants underneath it,” she claimed.

“I was like ‘Why the fuck would ants want a fake croissant?’ and it’s like, I’m almost wondering if this is a literal, real croissant covered in resin because they were going in the holes.”

She then poked a bigger hole in the lamp out of curiosity, claiming it “lowkey looks like a fucking croissant under there”.

After breaking the whole thing apart, revealing the inside of the lamp looking suspiciously layered, flakey and delicious, she was convinced she’d received a literal croissant that had been turned into a lamp.

“Are you actually joking me? That looks like fucking pastry, look at the crumbs!” she exclaimed.

Despite all signs pointing to “this is a croissant”, the creator decided that there was only one way to know for sure —the absolute mad dog took a fkn bite.

“It’s literally fucking food,” she confirmed, clearly doing the Lord’s work.

The video quickly went viral, racking up 5.4 million views at the time of writing. While people were surprised to see that the lamp was a genuine croissant, TikTokers were more shocked to see that the creator actually had a little nibble to confirm her suspicions.

“Did she just eat the Temu croissant lamp?” one user wrote.

“Temu croissant mukbang is wild,” said another.

Another user claimed that they had bought a chicken nugget keyring from the online retailer and had always suspected it was just a chicken nugget covered in resin.

Although the concept of turning food into furniture is pretty out there, it does happen.

The Temu lamp @froginahatgirl was gifted was a rip-off of a lamp range called PAMPSHADE created by Japanese artist Yukiko Morita. Put simply, Morita hand-makes lamps out of bread by coating them in an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal seal. They retail at $128 each.

Pretty nice, hey? (Image: PAMPSHADE Real Bread Lamp – Croissant)

Clearly, the OG version is a bit more up-market than the Temu knockoff. But at least the price tag ensures that you’re supporting the artist and ensuring you won’t get ants.

What a journey this has been. Shout out to @froginahatgirl for putting her own body on the line to confirm that her lamp was indeed edible. Who knows what Temu puts in that resin? You’re a real one for that!
