PlayStation just released the first three games that were previously announced to join the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog this December.
The three games in question are Sly 2: Band of Thieves, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, and Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, which are all PlayStation 2 classics. You can get access to all of these titles if you are a PlayStation Plus Premium subscriber.
PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog
So far, Sony has not yet announced all of the games that are being added to the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog this December. Furthermore, the studio has not yet revealed this month's new Game Catalog inclusions.
Sony announced the first wave of Classics games coming to the subscription service earlier this month alongside PlayStation Plus Essential games for December. The latter are now also live for players to enjoy.
Players now have access to It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem, which can all be claimed until Jan. 6, 2024. After this date, all three titles will be replaced with a new set of games, according to the Video Games Chronicle.
Sony Group shares were seen hitting a record closing high on Tuesday in Japan, which is most likely thanks to the community's growing optimism for its PlayStation brand. This was also a result of people thinking better of the company's other entertainment units.
The company's stock has been steadily increasing in price since last month after Sony reported strong results for its second quarter. The result was said to be driven by profit growth in the studio's game segment.
Addition of New PS2 Titles
Sony is also expected to reveal the full collection of games coming this December to the Classics and regular Games catalog on Dec. 13, 2024. The three titles that were recently released are all considered wonderful games by the community, IGN said.
It is highly likely that there will be another PlayStation Plus Premium update on Dec. 17, 2024. The addition of the three recent games in the Classics Catalog comes following Sony's celebration of PlayStation's 30th Anniversary.
Dec. 17, 2024, is also a notable date for subscribers of PlayStation Plus Premium. This is because it is the day when PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers are losing access to at least 16 titles.
This means that players who are signed up for the highest tier are also losing access to these 16 games. Fortunately, it is expected that Sony will release new games for both Extra and Premium subscribers on the same day, according to Game Rant.
