PlayStation Plus Catalogue games for February announced

Sony has confirmed the handful of games coming to the PlayStation Plus Catalogue this month.

There are nine games coming to the standard PlayStation Plus Catalogue in February, and an additional four Classics titles. These will only be available to subscribers to the top PlayStation Plus Premium tier.

Here are those games, before we dig into some of the more notable titles. All will be available from February 20.

PlayStation Plus Catalogue February games

  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
  • Lego Worlds
  • Lego Jurassic World
  • Need For Speed Unbound (PS5 only)
  • Roguebook
  • Rogue Lords
  • Tales of Arise
  • Tales of Zesteria
  • The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition (PS5 only)

Classics (Premium members only)

  • Resistance: Retribution (PSP)
  • Jet Rider 2 (PS1)
  • Tales of Symphonia Remastered (PS4)
  • Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition (PS4)

While not the biggest games of the month, the most interesting, perhaps, is the Tales series, which has been around since 1995. Four are coming to PlayStation Plus.

PlayStation Plus fans can access to Tales of Arise from 2021, Tales of Zesteria from 2015, while Premium members can also play Tales of Symphonia (2003), and Tales of Vesperia (2008).

It's arguably a bit cheeky standard members don’t get the latter two as well, as these games are actually the remasters made for PS4, not the originals for PS2 and PS3. However, it’s not like we’re going to be short of stuff to play when each Tales title takes around 40-80 hours to complete.

They are role-playing games that, at least superficially, are comparable with those of the Final Fantasy series.

Prefer a more western-style role-playing experience? Try The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition. This is a little like a Fallout game, and comes from developer Obsidian, which produced Fallout: New Vegas almost a decade earlier.

This title is only available to PlayStation 5 players as it’s the Spacer’s Choice Edition, which includes remastered visuals and was only released for current-gen systems.

The biggest of all this month’s PlayStation Plus games must surely be Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, though. It has attracted 20 million players, made more than $1 billion, and takes 61-145 hours to finish, according to How Long To Beat

It’s an open-world adventure set in England and Norway, and features a Viking-era depiction of London.

If you want to dip into a game for some quick fun, you’ll be much better off with 2022’s fun arcade racer Need for Speed Unbound or Lego Jurassic World. It’s one of the more highly regarded Lego games.

Looking for the PlayStation Plus Essential games for February instead of the Catalogue additions? We wrote about those at the beginning of February, and they include Rollerdrome, Foamstars, and Steelrising.
