PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to 17 games this month, including new indie titles Sea of Stars and Moving Out 2, along with Destiny 2: The Witch Queen.
The majority of new additions will be available to stream or download on August 15. Subscribers on the Premium plan will also be able to play three PlayStation classics that were originally released on the PSP.
You can check out the full August lineup below including our top picks of the month.
PlayStation Plus August catalogue games highlights
Sea of Stars (PS4/PS5)
Don’t let this plucky indie’s retro visuals fool you, Sea of Stars promises a rich story and more dynamic combat and travel than the older, turn-based RPGs it harks back to. It also wears its influences on its sleeve, with Chrono Trigger composer Yasunori Mitsuda handling the score.
Sea of Stars will be available when it launches on August 29.
Moving Out 2 (PS4/PS5)
Like its predecessor, Moving Out 2 turns furniture moving into a frantic party for multiple players. Alongside local co-op, this time round you can even play with randoms online. With its candy-coloured levels and tongue-in-cheek humour, the sequel should please friends and families alike. Do you have what it takes to join the Smooth Moves’ team of all-star F.A.R.Ts (Furniture Arrangement & Relocation Technicians)?
The new game will land on PS Plus on its launch date of August 15.
Lost Judgment (PS4/PS5)
An action-packed detective story from the makers of the Yakuza games, Lost Judgment sees players investigating crime scenes and dishing out bone-crunching justice. Japanophiles, and fans of LA Noire and Dreamcast classic Shenmue, will lap it up.
Available from Tuesday, August 15.
Dreams (PS4)
If you’ve always wanted to make your own game, Dreams is for you. Even if you lack any real programming skills, this deceptively powerful game-creation software is fun to play with. And, if like us you balk at the sight of a map or level builder, you can still use Dreams to experience what others have made.
Live support for the game is ending in September, but fans will be hoping that its inclusion on PlayStation Plus will keep its community alive. You don’t even need to wait till mid-August to play Dreams: The game is available as a free download for PlayStation Plus members until the end of the month.
