The PlayStation 5 is still proving difficult to buy as retailers drip feed restock releases every month here in the UK.
Sony launched the console back in November, 2020 and it's still high in demand among gamers. The console often sells out whenever a retailer announces an online launch and BT is the latest tech giant to make the PS5 available to buy today.
The telecoms company has the PS5 Disc Edition console in stock, buy here. Only BT broadband customers will be able to buy a PS5 from BT though, with customers registering an interest in the console receiving a code to buy one.
Those who are eligible to buy a PlayStation 5 from BT will need to log in their BT account here. Once logged in, users will then need to scroll down until they see a section called ‘Your Offers’ which will show a dedicated section titled ‘Order your PlayStation 5’. If customers can see this, then they have been chosen for the PS5 drop.
From this point onward customers must click ‘Reveal your code’ on that dedicated section, and they will then be given a code. Shoppers are being urged to keep this code safe if they're attempting to purchase a PS5 console via BT. Alternatively, they can donate it to a friend or family member if they aren’t going to use the code.
The BT drop is a PlayStation 5 Disc Edition restock only, with both standalone and bundles available to choose from. BT Shop has not sold PS5 Digital Edition consoles before, so that’s worth bearing in mind for future BT drops. You can register your interest to buy a PlayStation 5 with BT here, but you must be a BT customer.
If you're not with BT and are thinking of changing broadband providers then they currently have a deal on at the moment. Their broadband deal includes a Full Fibre 500 package with six months free of Xbox Game Pass, download speeds of 500mb, no upfront fees, no landline phone, for £29.99 a month for 12 months, then £39.99 a month on a 24 month contract. Prices do depend on availability and location.
Sony's latest console has sold more than 10 million times worldwide, making it the biggest console launch in US history. In the UK, the console was made available to buy on November 19, 2020 and sold out instantly.
The PlayStation 5 comes in two forms - the PS5 console: £449.99 and the PS5 Digital Edition console: £359.99. The only difference between the PS5 console and the PS5 Digital Edition console is the inclusion of an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive in the PS5 console. The PS5 Digital Edition console does not feature a disc drive.
