Player grades: Bulls allow 150 points in blowout loss to Timberwolves

The Chicago Bulls lost their fourth-straight game on Sunday night in a blow out loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, 150-126.

Minnesota’s 150 points marked a franchise record and the 4th most points in regulation history in the NBA.

The Timberwolves were able to get whatever shot they wanted all night long as Minnesota scored at least 32 points in each quarter, including a 42-point third quarter as the Bulls were outscored by 26 points combined after the first quarter.

And Chicago’s Big 3 all had good games as DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic combined for 74 points but it was Chicago’s defense once again that led to another Bulls loss.

Check out the player grades below from the Bull’s fourth-straight loss.

DeMar DeRozan: B+

DeMar DeRozan had a typical game for him on Sunday, leading the Bulls with 29 points along with four rebounds, six assists, and two steals. With Chicago’s struggles this season, DeRozan may be on the trade block before the deadline.

Zach LaVine: B

Zach LaVine finished with 22 points and six assists on 8-of-16 shooting from the floor in Sunday’s loss. Despite an efficient night, LaVine and the Bulls were unable to keep up with his former team.

Nikola Vucevic: A-

In Sunday’s loss, Nikola Vucevic had an all-around good game, finishing with 23 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block. Vooch shot 10-of-15 from the floor and 3-of-6 from downtown, in efficient game wasted for Chicago’s big man.

Patrick Williams: C+

Patrick Williams finished with 13 points, two rebounds, and four assists on 4-of-9 from the floor. Williams, who helped defend Anthony Edwards throughout the night, had a tough time containing Minnesota’s best player, who scored 37 points.

Alex Caruso: C+

Alec Caruso finished with five points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal as a starter. Like Williams, Caruso tried his hand at defending Edwards and D’Angelo Russell, who scored 28 points, but the Bulls as a whole couldn’t get any stops on Sunday.

Goran Dragic: B-

Goran Dragic played 19 minutes off the bench in Sunday’s loss, finishing with six points, three rebounds, and five assists.

Derrick Jones Jr.: B

Derrick Jones Jr. played 20 minutes off the bench with Javonte Green out of the lineup, finishing with 13 points, three rebounds, and one assist.

Coby White: B-

Coby White finished with 10 points, two rebounds, and one steal on 2-of-4 shooting from downtown in 19 minutes in Sunday’s loss.
