Plans for ‘mixed-use’ student accommodation and affordable housing have been submitted to Edinburgh Council.
Set to be constructed in the Holyrood area, the development would sit just off Sibbald Walk. The number of homes created has not been detailed, though developers say the plan would include space for community use and associated landscaping.
The plot sits with Calton Road to the north, and south of Shoemakers Square. Two public events are planned at the Scottish Storytelling Centre, on May 17 and then again on June 19.

If approved, the new student accommodation would join the nearby Student Roost - with two building, Brewers Court and Panmure Court. The University of Edinburgh’s Holyrood South accommodation also sits nearby, along with the Unite Students Sugarhouse Close building.
The development would sit just a five minute walk away from Edinburgh Waverley, whilst being a 15 minute walk from the University of Edinburgh’s main campus.
