A light plane has been forced to make an emergency landing near Lake Eyre in South Australia's far north, with emergency services on the way to the scene.
An emergency beacon was activated from the single-engine Cessna shortly after 11:30am.
Police said four people were on board, but it is understood that the pilot and passengers are not injured.
They have contacted police, who are making their way to the scene.
SA Ambulance Service has also sent two specialist operations teams in helicopters.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is aware of the incident and said it was currently gathering information.
"The forced landing of a Cessna 172 light aircraft near Lake Eyre this morning has been reported to the Australian Transport Safety Bureau," the ATSB said in a statement.
"The ATSB is currently gathering further information on the circumstances of the incident to inform any decision on conducting an investigation."
Lake Eyre is a popular destination for outback scenic flights.
