Pitt Street Food Market promises 'greatest hits' at last weekend in Leith

The legendary Pitt Street Food Market will be in Leith for the final time this weekend, ahead of a move to their new location.

Pitt Street has been the popular food spot's home for the past seven years, but early this year we reported on its upcoming closure after a multimillion pound residential development was confirmed for the site.

Their new location was subsequently announced, with the team behind the street food market revealing they're moving to Granton, next year. The Granton site will have more traders (7 stalls expanding to 21) and is set to be three times the size.

The Leith street food venue was established in 2015 and has grown in popularity ever since, providing award-winning food, drinks and live music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

And their last day in Leith will take place this weekend.

Sharing a post on social media about some of the street food vendors expected there this weekend, promising 'all the greatest hits, the team said: "Sounding the @goodtimes.tacos Pitt klaxon for the final time!

"Our favourite birria boys return to the yard tomorrow alongside @thefunnelcakeco, who made their debut with us back in March and have secured 3rd place in the @scottishstreetfoodawards Judge's Choice category since.

"All the greatest hits, ladies & gentlemen!

"If that wasn't enough to lure you down, we've got FREE ENTRY for the final two Pitts - and beyond! Our Granton site will be free to visit when we open next year."

Regular vendors at the site include the Buffalo Truck offering their award winning Buffalo Burger with blue cheese and buffalo sauce, long time resident Ròst which boasts seasonal and local Scottish street food with a creative twist and Barnacles & Bones with the well-loved favourite Juicy Steak on Fries with Gremolata.

Announcing their departure from Leith in social media post earlier this year, The Pitt commented: "We're moving - after seven years of calling Pitt Street home it's finally being turned into flats. You've only got ten weekends left to come eat, party, and chill with us and the best traders from over the last seven years."
