Pitt QB Ryan Pickett says playing for the Steelers would be ‘a dream’

The Pittsburgh Steelers are on the hunt for a new franchise quarterback. After the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger has created a Hall of Fame-sized hole in the offense.

One guy who is getting plenty of buzz is former Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett as a potential Steelers target. Pickett talked about the potential of playing for the Steelers and he had nothing but great things to say about playing for Pittsburgh.

“The possibility of being drafted there would be really unbelievable,” Pickett said. “Pittsburgh’s really my second home so that would be kind of a dream,”

Pickett has emerged as the top quarterback in the upcoming 2022 NFL draft. Pickett had a huge 2021 season with 4,319 passing yards, 42 passing touchdowns and only seven interceptions. Pickett’s development from 2020 to now has been nothing short of remarkable.

Because Pickett is such a fast riser, Pittsburgh would need to make a trade-up to get him in the first round. The last time the Steelers made a big trade, it was to go up and get linebacker Devin Bush in 2019.
