For a man whose family name has been stamped on everything from soaps and shaving cream to refrigerators and real estate, Pirojsha Godrej took a rather circuitous route to the corner office.

Politics once interested him more than business; today, at 45, he is the newest next-generation boss among India Inc’s business heirs, taking charge as Chairperson-designate of Godrej Industries Group.
