Pippa Middleton has shared her top tips for losing weight, which she says will help get "fast results".
Pippa, the sister of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has laid out a 10-week fitness programme in partnership with Waitrose. It ranges from "brisk, rigorous walking" in week one to week six's high intensity interval training (HIIT), which she says is "great for burning fat and boosting fitness" and "does wonders for your body shape, particularly if you’re after fast results".
HIIT is similar to circuit training. The idea is you exercise in short, explosive bursts, with a brief recovery period, before resuming another short, explosive exercise. "The aim," Pippa says, "is to boost your VO2 max – increase the amount of oxygen your body can use per minute. Put simply, the greater your VO2 max, the fitter you are."

She continues: "This sort of workout is perfect if you don’t want to spend hours in the gym but want to up your fitness levels. Working harder will increase your metabolic rate, not only during exercise but for a few hours after too."
Example exercises include squat jumps, burpees, and lunges - but remember, it's the intensity that'll get you fit. For that reason, Pippa recommends doing each exercise for 30 seconds before switching to the next exercise, and doing a round robin four times.
Other weeks on the programme focus on core strength, "whittling your waist", and increasing your flexibility. The full, 10-week programme is focused around the following core principles:
- Walk your way to health
- Set yourself a fitness plan
- Definition and strength work
- Find a fitness activity you enjoy
- Discover core exercise
- High intensity interval training
- Flexibility exercises
- Exercise for mobility
- Take a rest day or two
- What next?
