Shoppers are paying more than £1 for a pint of milk in some smaller Sainsbury's stores. It comes as the cost of living crisis continues to put the squeeze on families across Britain.
The £1.05 charge comes as households are rocked by rising inflation that hit 10.1 per cent in July - a terrifying 40 year high. Next month, energy bills are also set to rise.
Two pints at the smaller Sainsbury's store cost £1.35. It means people are now paying two-and-a-half times more for milk than a year ago, the Mirror reports.
