Piers Morgan takes aim at Prince Harry and Megan in savage TalkTV opening monologue

Piers Morgan launched his new TV show Piers Morgan Uncensored with an explosive interview with Donald Trump on Monday evening.

The former President of the United States sat down with the 57-year-old presenter in a pre-recorded chat, which saw him take aim at Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle among others.

Ahead of TalkTV airing the interview clip, Piers launched into a blistering opening monologue lambasting "cancel culture".

Peppered through the initial comments were a series of barbs directed at Harry and Meghan.

Piers first referred to common sense and truth, saying: "That's the truth, by the way, not your truth. Definitely not Princess Pinocchio's truth," at which point a picture of Meghan flashed on the screen with an elongated nose super-imposed on her face.

Later Piers continued to lambast "hypocrite celebrities", who are "pontificating about equality from their massive mansions and constantly preaching one thing while doing the complete opposite themselves".

He then added: "I think you know the type - right, your Royal Highness?" as a picture of Prince Harry smiling appeared on screen.

Later during his interview with Trump, the former President told Piers he reckons Meghan will ditch Prince Harry for “some other guy she likes better”.

Ex-Good Morning Britain presenter Piers set up the topic with his own opinion – as is his usual interview style.

“You know, here's my issue with it. I think that they've quit the country, they quit royal duty, they're living in luxury in California,” he said.

“They want to use their royal titles to exploit them for massive financial gain.

“Without any of the duty that comes with the royal titles. I don't think you can have your royal cake and eat it. That's my argument about it.”

Trump then chirped: “So I want to know what's going to happen when Harry decides he's had enough of being bossed around.

“Or maybe when she decides that she likes some other guy better. I want to know what's going to happen when it ends, okay.”

Piers is heading up the flagship show on the brand new TV channel TalkTV as part of a rumoured £50 million three-year deal.

Trump, who left his office in disgrace, entered a public spat with Piers ahead of the interview broadcast, as a promotional video appeared to show him storming out.

The former President's team suggested this had not been the case, using audio to show the two thanking each other at the end of the interview.

Morgan tweeted in response to criticism from Donald Trump Jr : “I learned all my promo skills from you guys on Celebrity Apprentice! Nothing misleading or deceptive about it, Don - your dad just got very annoyed when I told him I don’t believe the 2020 election was rigged or stolen. Aside from that, it was a terrific interview.”

The launch of Piers Morgan Uncensored comes just over a year after the TV presenter shocked the nation by storming off a live broadcast of ITV ’s Good Morning Britain.

The Marmite presenter marched out of the studio after a heated clash with weather presenter Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Ofcom received more than 41,000 complaints after Piers claimed he “didn't believe” Meghan was telling the truth while discussing her “suicidal” thoughts.

When Alex slammed Piers for his "absolutely diabolical" behaviour, his rival dramatically walked out saying he was "done with this", although he did later return to the live show.

This led to a series of events which ended with Piers leaving his role on GMB.
