Piers Morgan has taken aim at Prince Harry after the former Royal gave a surprise tell-all interview in which he claimed he is making sure the Queen has “the right people” to “protect” her.
The Duke of Sussex told America's Today Show about visiting the monarch at Windsor Castle on a secret stop-off before the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, but insisted the US is now his “home”.
Harry and wife Meghan Markle have made a series of bombshell claims since they walked away from the Royal Family, and Buckingham Palace will be braced for more when the full interview is aired later today.
A preview clip from the two hour chat was released on Twitter on Tuesday evening, teasing what was ahead in the interview.
In the short clip, Harry told the host of his joy at being back in his grandmother's company and revelled in making her laugh.
He told the host: "Being with her, it was great.
"It was just so nice to see her … She’s on great form. She's always got a great sense of humour with me and I'm just making sure she's protected and got the right people around her."
The host went on to tell Harry how it's common knowledge he has a habit of making the Queen laugh and asked if he was able to again.
With a smile on his face, he nodded as he responded: "Yes, I did. Both Meghan and I had tea with her and it was really nice to catch up with her."
But former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan slammed the Duke of Sussex for “trashing” the Queen’s family in his latest rant against the former royal.
Piers took to Twitter to respond to a BBC headline on the sit-down interview, which stated: “ Prince Harry says he is making sure the Queen is protected.”
Piers wrote in a series of scathing questions: “By quitting Britain and living 6,000 miles away? By trashing her family and institution on TV? By snubbing Prince Philip's memorial? By writing a book that will ruin her Platinum Jubilee?”
This comes after Piers reignited his row with the Sussex couple as he branded Prince Harry “spoiled and privileged” after the ex royal vowed to make the world a “more equal place” for his children.
Again taking to Twitter, he fired: "More equal? A spoiled privileged prince who inherited millions & now makes 100s of millions fleecing his royal titles from his $11m Californian mansion wants EQUALITY for his kids?"
Piers has made no secret of his feelings towards Harry and Meghan, in particular to her now infamous interview with Oprah, which led to him leaving Good Morning Britain.
