Piers Morgan has called on Arsenal to buy two "world class" players in the January transfer window as the Gunners seek to win the Premier League title.
Mikel Arteta's men will spend the World Cup at the top of the table for the first time since 2007, having moved five points clear of Manchester City with a win over Wolves. Arsenal are hoping to win their first title for 19 years this term, after enjoying a remarkable first half of the season.
Much of their success has been built on players bought over the last two seasons, with Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale all starring. But Morgan, who has been a frequent critic of Arteta, believes that the Gunners still need to add to their squad.
The broadcaster has demanded that the club's owners, the Kroenkes, "get the chequebook out" in the January window. He believes that the addition of two elite players will be enough for Arsenal to win their first title since 2004.
"Top of the Premier League… 5pts clear.. Arteta’s process now fully trusted… players & fans united… this is our time again, @Arsenal. Now need the Kroenkes to get the chequebook out in January & buy big. Two more world class players & we’ll be Champions again," Morgan tweeted.
Odegaard scored twice as the Gunners claimed a crucial win at Wolves, ensuring they took full advantage of City's defeat to Brentford. They now have a five-point advantage over Pep Guardiola's men heading into the break for the World Cup.

But with 24 games still remaining once the Premier League returns, boss Arteta is keen to keep his players focused on the task at hand. And he insisted that his team will be taking things game by game once they are back in action.
"It’s great to be where we are. We are enjoying that moment, and we have a big break. We have to reflect on what we are doing, and be very much prepared for what is going to come after the World Cup," he said.
"But, our aim is to play better as a team every single day; to have better tools to do what we want to do on that pitch. I can say that it has been phenomenal to work with these players and staff.
"When a team is in that moment, you want to carry on playing obviously, but it is not possible. We have to use the time now in the best possible way so the players who are not participating in the World Cup, they will have some time off, which they fully deserve.
"And the rest fulfil a dream that every kid has had, when they had a chance to represent their national team in a World Cup. Obviously, nobody expected us to be where we are right now and the amount of games that we have managed to win, but I am more focused on our way of playing."
