Piers Morgan has shared his concerns for Phillip Schofield after reaching out to the former This Morning presenter - revealing that he is "struggling" in the wake of his affair scandal.
The TalkTV presenter, who moved to the new channel after leaving Good Morning Britain, spoke out as Phillip continues to keep a low profile in Cornwal l while his former co-host Holly Willoughby presents This Morning.
Speaking to The Sun at The TRIC Awards, Piers said: "I've been in touch with Phillip and I think he's struggling. It's tough to leave any big job, let alone when its a big scandal. But he'll be back. I think he can bounce back. I think the more its gone on, the more people are thinking, what exactly did he do that was so heinous.
"Unless a crime was committed or unless the other party involved decides to contradict something that Phillip is saying, you take it for what it is I'm note entirely sure why the world went completely nuts."
The TalkTV presenter went on to admit he "feels" for Phillip on a "human level" and praised the former This Morning host for being "honest" about the mistakes he made.
Former Good Morning Britain star expressed a wish to give Phillip a second chance before applauding him for his interview following the scandal.
"I think he was very raw and emotional and I think that's the best time to give an interview because you are at your most honest," he added.
Piers joked the disgraced presenter could join him on TalkTV or possibly write a book as his next move away from ITV.
Phillip quit This Morning before subsequently admitting to having an affair with a younger male colleague.
After parting ways with ITV and his management company, Phillip no longer presenters Dancing on Ice and the British Soap Awards as well as his beloved This Morning.
The former presenter recently rushed to hospital to be at the bedside of his 87-year-old mother after she fell ill.
Phillip has been supported by his mother Pat, as well as his estranged wife Stephanie Lowe and his two daughters Ruby and Molly, amid the affair scandal.
