Piers Morgan reignites row with Harry and Meghan with charity snipe

TalkTV's Piers Morgan is renowned for his outspoken nature. Over the years, he has regularly made blood boil over his controversial comments, both in person and on social media. Birmingham Mail reports that Piers fallen back into old habits and attacked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, once more.

Piers' opinions on the Prince and his wife led to his departure from ITV's Good Morning Britain last year. On Monday, August 15, Piers took aim at the couple's decision to return to the UK. The pair are back in the UK in early September wen they will visit several charities, including One Young World summit – an event which brings together young leaders from more than 190 countries.

But Morgan isn't impressed, he tweeted: “‘For Charity’ [laughing emojis]. " He then added: “Try ‘for Netflix $$$$$$$$’." The distinctly uncharitable tweet prompted mass reaction from the general public, some agreeing with the contrary critic and some backing the royal couple.

One person commented: "What on earth have we possibly done to deserve this? Haven’t we all got enough problems - climate change, cost of living, energy, corrupt politicians and their cronies etc etc….. now this. All to make money out of charities and their supporters….sad so sad."

A second said: "Which charity is paying for the jet, security and hotels? What is their appearance fee? How much of this eye-watering £883,326 for ‘staging events’ goes to the grifter in chief? Please investigate!"

Another stuck up for Harry and Meghan: "These are two of the most selfless people in the world. They don't do things for the money, they do it out of their love for the people."

Elsewhere, someone stuck up for the Royals and wrote: "Mate you’d do absolutely anything for money! So you aren’t in a position to judge on that."

Echoing this, someone else commented: "I've never seen anyone take being ghosted so badly. It's been years, move on".

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be living just 800m away from William and Kate Middleton when they jet back to Britain next month. What are your thoughts on their return to the UK? Let us know in the comments. For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
