Piers Morgan has reacted to the news that Cristiano Ronaldo's second spell at Manchester United has come to an end.
The TalkTV star hosted a bombshell interview with the Portugal international, who is currently at the Qatar 2022 World Cup with his country, in which Ronaldo criticised the club, Erik ten Hag, the Glazer family and former teammates Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney. Following that interview, United were said to be considering sacking the former Sporting Lisbon, Real Madrid and Juventus player and it was confirmed on Tuesday night that he has now left the Old Trafford outfit "by mutual agreement".
United confirmed the news in a statement, which read: “Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.

“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.
“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”
Ronaldo himself also sent a message to fans following his second departure from the Premier League side.
Ronaldo said in a statement: “I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge.”
And TalkTV personality Morgan has now responded to the news. The former Good Morning Britain presenter quote-tweeted Manchester United's statement with the message: "The End."
He added a second tweet showing him giving Ronaldo an Arsenal shirt with the message: "Time for Phase 2."
Portugal will get their World Cup campaign underway against Ghana at 4pm GMT on Thursday, with Ronaldo widely expected to start the Group H encounter.
