Piers Morgan hopes Stormy Daniels OK as interview cancelled amid 'security issues'

Stormy Daniels has been forced to postpone her interview with Piers Morgan due to security issues.

Taking to Twitter just minutes before the show, Piers announced: "UPDATE: Unfortunately, Stormy Daniels has had to suddenly postpone our interview tonight due to some security issues that have arisen. Hope she’s OK."

Porn star Stormy Daniels was set to be grilled for the first time since Donald Trump was indicted.

Piers had earlier announced: "As Donald Trump becomes the first US President in history to be indicted on criminal charges, I've got the first world exclusive interview with the woman who sparked the scandal."

A Manhattan grand jury indicted Trump on Thursday and his court hearing has been set for 2.15pm ET (7.15pm BST) on Tuesday, April 4.

The exact charges have not been released as of yet, however, sources have claimed that he faces more than 30 counts related to business fraud.

It is the first time in history a US president has ever been indicted.

In a statement confirming the charges, Trump's defence lawyers Susan Necheles and Joseph Tacopina said he "did not commit any crime" and vowed to "vigorously fight this political prosecution in court".

Tacopina insisted that Trump would not take a plea deal: "There's no crime."

It comes following an investigation into payments made during his 2016 presidential campaign to silence claims of an extramarital sexual encounter with porn stars, including Stormy Daniels.

Trump also faces the possibility of additional charges soon in Atlanta and Washington, as part of numerous other ongoing investigations.

A deal has been struck between Trump's legal team and prosecutors in Manhattan that the former President will not be handcuffed when he surrenders.

Following Trump's indictment, Stormy Daniels said she is celebrating and is receiving countless messages of "support and love".

She thanked everyone who reached out to her on Twitter and said she has too many messages to respond to everyone.

Speaking to The Times about the charges, the adult actress said: "It's monumental and epic, and I'm proud.

"The other side of it is that it's going to continue to divide people and bring them up in arms. He's already gotten away with inciting a riot, and causing death and destruction."
