Piers Morgan hits out at UK's politicians while hailing Ukraine's 'incredible leader'

Piers Morgan has once again shown his support to Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky while also criticising politicians in the UK.

The outspoken presenter, 56, gushed over the actions of the Ukrainian as the country continued to battle against a Russian invasion on Tuesday.

Taking to Twitter, Piers declared his love for the president following his defiant speech.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter shared an image of the Mirror's front page image of the politician with his fist in the air and wrote: "Love this guy.

"Such an incredible leader, so astoundingly courageous. If only our politicians had an ounce of his cojones. Good luck."

He also criticised how the world had let Russian leader Vladimir Putin "bully them" as he commented hours earlier: "We know Putin’s convoy is about to reach Kyiv and start murdering many more women & children.

"We also know we can stop it with air strikes entirely justified by his war crimes. But we won’t, because we’re scared of retaliation. Putin’s bullied the world into shameful submission."

Days earlier, Piers had also shown his support to the Ukrainian comedian-turned-politician on Instagram.

Alongside a split-pic of Zelensky and Putin, the presenter wrote: "With every second that this war continues, President Zelensky’s reputation as a strong, brave, inspiring leader soars at the same speed as President Putin’s reputation for being a vile, cowardly, bully-boy thug.

"We’re all with you @zelenskiy_official - keep fighting. # Ukraine "

Julia Bradbury was among those commenting on the post, saying: "It's true. Now let's see what we do ..I'm not hopeful that we will respond appropriately"

The words came after Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 57, said Putin, 69, has "chosen a path of bloodshed and destruction" with Piers quick to make his feelings about the president clear.

And many other celebrities have also put their name out in support of Ukraine and its leader as the world watches the catastrophe unfold.

Friends star David Schwimmer also took to Instagram to share a post which read: "This is Volodymyr Zelensky. President of Ukraine.

"He is Jewish. His grandfather fought Nazis in WW2. Many of his relatives were killed in the Holocaust. He is standing up to a dictator. Because he is brave. Because he knows what happens if you don't."

He captioned the image by asking his follower to donate to the plight and wrote: "Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was asked to evacuate Kyiv at the behest of the U.S. government but turned down the offer.

"Zelensky said 'The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride'."
