Piers Morgan fumes at Leeds stars for ignoring fans in Arsenal repeat - "Arrogant p****s"

Piers Morgan laid into Leeds United's players following another harrowing result for the club in the Premier League.

But it wasn't the 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth that had Morgan taking aim, but rather the behaviour of the squad in the team hotel. Nearly 2,000 fans made the 520-mile round trip from Yorkshire for the crucial relegation battle, with the defeat leaving their club just one point clear of the bottom three ahead of the Leicester vs Everton clash tonight (Monday).

Many of those supporters were there on Sunday morning to greet the players as they left their accommodation to board the bus. However, rather than acknowledge their travelling support, a video clip posted on Twitter showed players blanking fans in the lobby as they walked straight out the door, the majority listening to headphones.

One youngster in particular was left downbeat after waving at the players, but his efforts went totally unnoticed. And never one to hold back on matters, TV presenter Morgan reposted the video with the caption: "Selfish arrogant p****s."

He wasn't the only one to take aim mind, with talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan also tweeting: "Players have got to do better … I think they forget where they’ve come from." One Twitter user commented: "Should be ashamed of themselves Football is nothing without the fans."

Another said: "Do they know that these people are the reason they earn money?" One fan wrote: "To be fair. It’s not just Leeds. It’s most clubs and players these days sadly. They don’t realise that fans are the heart and souls of football clubs. How long does a photo take!"

The Leeds players didn't acknowledge their fans as they left the team hotel (Twitter@https://twitter.com/igrattan?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1652631235)

It's the second time the issue of Premier League stars ignoring fans has flared up of late. A fortnight ago, footage emerged of Arsenal players signing a shirt for one of the club mascots, with the majority barely looking at her as they scribbled before walking off.

Morgan also weighed in on that saga, ranting on Twitter: "Come on guys, at least one of you say hello to her?!!" But the father of the girl involved then moved to play down talk of her being snubbed.

"My daughter had a lovely time as Mascot for @Arsenal," he insisted. "There was only a small window to meet the players and she enjoyed it very much. Odegaard is her favourite player so to hold his hand onto the pitch was very special."
