Piers Morgan and Loose Women's Denise Welch reignite feud with explosive clash

Piers Morgan and Denise Welch have reignited their vicious feud with an explosive exchange of insults on social media.

The 57-year-old TalkTV star has had a war of words with the Loose Women star, 63, for a number of years and they once again went public with their thoughts about each other over the weekend.

This exchange of bitter jibes came after Denise took delight in the viewing figures of Piers Morgan Uncensored, which had poor ratings since it launched on TalkTV despite a huge advertising campaign promoting the show.

Former Hollyoaks actress Denise commented on Twitter : "Couldn’t happen to a nicer bloke.”

Of course, Piers was not going to overlook the barbed comment and once again went in on Denise, especially over her battle with depression.

He hit back at Denise writing: “Awww, Little Miss Mental Health being unkind again..

“… anyone would think you’re a hypocritical fraud playing the MH card for ££.”

One Twitter user jumped to the defence of Denise and commented: "What has this got to do with #Mentalhealth?

“Mental health is nothing to joke about!”

Piers then made it abundantly clear to the supporter as to why he made the comment about Denise: “I’ve got no time for mental health frauds like Denise Welch who cynically exploit MH for money & preach about kindness but are horrible human beings.”

The clash then escalated as Denise hit back at Piers, tweeting: "The same man who said I wear my depression ‘like a designer handbag’ & that Will Young doesn’t have PTSD he has WNTS (whiny needy twerp syndrome’) .

“That’s why people are glad your show is bombing Piers.”

Still fuming, Denise later tweeted: “Piers Morgan cared nothing, not one jot about how his constant scaremongering and anxiety inducing ranting impacted the mental health of this nation over the last 2 yrs.

“Anything for headlines. I’ve been a mental health advocate for 33 yrs.

“He’s put the cause back 20yrs!!!”

This prompted Piers to claim that Denise is a "shameful hypocrite" as he continued their social media swipes at each other.

He wrote: "More sickening lies from a shameful hypocrite. So many D-list ‘celebrities’ like Welch now ruthlessly exploiting mental health for personal financial gain.

"I see right through them all. Wonder how much cash she’s now banked from playing the MH victim…"

Actress Denise was not going to let that lie and claimed that Piers had well and truly stepped over the line.

She hit back at Piers, tweeting: "Piers. This is now defamation of character. I have been a very vocal advocate for mental health and those living with mental illness.

"I am an active ambassador for several mental health charities & have shared my own illness for 33 yrs. How dare you accuse me of financial gain."

Always looking to have the last word, Piers made sure that this nasty spat did not rise above the gutter with one last swipe at his sworn enemy.

He tweeted: "Aww diddums. If you can’t take it, don’t dish it out. You’re a nasty piece of work who epitomises the fake #BeKind brigade. But feel free to sue me, just remember to bring all your book profit receipts…"
