Former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has labelled Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez a 'legend' and has admitted that things are going 'very well' working under the club legend.
Aubameyang, 32, has netted five times in all competitions since completing his move from north London in January after his falling out with Arteta.
Speaking in a press conference for new side Barcelona, the Gabon international said: “My last few months at Arsenal were complicated, that’s football sometimes.
“For my part, I never wanted to do anything wrong. My problem was only with Arteta. I can’t say much more, I wasn’t happy.
“It was just him and he made that decision. He wasn’t happy, I can’t tell you more. He wasn’t very happy, I was very calm.
“Those were difficult months. This is football. I’ve never wanted to do anything wrong, it’s the past and I want to think about the present.”
In contrast, Aubameyang was rather complimentary of Arteta's fellow countryman Xavi in his latest interview that was conducted after the recent win over Elche for the Catalan giants.
"Things are going very well with Xavi," Aubameyang told Bein Sports via the Mirror.
"He is a legend and will contribute many things to the club.
"Barça deserves to be in front and I am very happy there because I am at home. I’m Spanish for my mother’s sake.
"My grandfather was from Atletico and I just hope that wherever he is, he will be proud of me for playing in the league."
Arsenal and Aubameyang will be happy with how the situation has unfolded, with both parties now able to move on.
Aubameyang himself is on course to overtake current top scorer Memphis Depay as Barca's leading scorer this season, despite the fact he failed to score in the 75 minutes that he played against Elche at the weekend.
As for Arteta, the burden that seemed evident during the latter days of the 32-year-old's north London stay seems to have dissipated, with the rest of squad stepping up in his absence as shown by the recent run of form and the victories over Wolves and Watford.
Gabriel Martinelli and Alexandre Lacazette amongst others have collaborated together to ensure that the goals no longer provided by Aubameyang have been crafted elsewhere.
