With the weather hotting up nicely it’s the perfect time for a trip to the beach and there’s one that’s well worth exploring on a day out from Liverpool.
The beach is located on the Llyn peninsula near the small village of Llanbedrog, near Abersoch, which overlooks Cardigan Bay. It’s 114 miles from Liverpool so you will need to set off early if you want to make the two and half hour journey in a day, but it’s certainly a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, reports MEN.
To get to the beach you need to go through a woodland area and once you do you’ll be greeted by a mile long stretch of gold sand and crystal clear waters. You can spend the day gazing out at the stunning views across Cardigan Bay and watching the watersports, with the area a popular spot for paddleboarding and kayaking.

This stretch of coast has a charming row of multicoloured beach huts in the summer months - they’re removed during the winter to keep them protected from the elements. The huts can be booked but you need to be quick as they’re popular with visitors.
Today the beach is operated by the National Trust with a large car park for visitors to use, costing £5. If you need some refreshments there’s the Aqua Beach Bar Restaurant nearby with an outside seating area where you can eat al fresco.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you could head off on the Llanbedrog coastal circular walk from Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, which takes you up the Mynydd Tir-y-Cwmwd headland. The 2.3 mile walk has stunning views over the bay - keep an eye out for the Tin Man sculpture too.
