Pictures show damage caused by Barton Hill flat block fire

A block of flats have been left damaged after a fire tore through the building. Pictures from the scene in Barton Hill show parts of Eccleston House, which has been wrapped up in scaffolding, have been left badly burnt.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service crews managed to successfully put out the blaze this morning (October 20) after receiving a large number of calls at 6.08am. The incident on Avondale Road led to a large emergency service response, with paramedics and police also called out.

A road closure was set up along Avondale Road while the incident was dealt with. Traffic monitoring website Inrix reports that the closure remains in place as of 1pm today.
