Newcastle United ran riot at Goodison Park as they swept aside a Premier League opponent for the second time in the space of five days.
That makes it 10 goals in two matches for Eddie Howe's Europe-bound Magpies but you would not have sensed it half an hour or so after the game. Newcastle had some brief celebrations to enjoy the result but by the time they were heading for the bus late on Thursday night, they were already locked into focusing on Southampton at the weekend.
On a night in which they weren't at their best they'd still gone in 1-0 up at half-time thanks to Callum Wilson and found the solutions in the second half as they steamed on and won the game 4-1 with the number 9 grabbing a second and goals flowing from Joelinton and Jacob Murphy.

After the game England stopper Jordan Pickford showed quality as he congratulated Newcastle players in the tunnel. It must have been difficult for Pickford after a night in which he'd been taunted but his bond with England players such as Kieran Trippier and Nick Pope shone through in the direct aftermath of defeat.
Pickford will be determined to put things right for his club after the defeat but Everton knew they had given their all, and simply ran into a Newcastle side in devastating form.
Alexander Isak's PlayStation move that attracted more attention than the four goals
After the match, Newcastle fans were left buzzing with another fantastic away day but the main talking point for many as they filtered away from Goodison was Isak's run. On closer inspection, some Geordie fans were comparing it to a goal from FIFA 23 on the PlayStation or Xbox as he went through a repertoire of skill moves.
There were stepovers, feints and ultimately a wonderful cross for Murphy to tap home. Just days after Joe Willock had earned assist of the season, Isak weighed in with a serious contender - even if fantasy football league experts said the goal was unassisted.
Either way his run and shimmy down the left, right in front of fans in the Lower Bullens section, will be talked about for years and years to come.
The bookies Champions League verdict is in for Newcastle
OK, so the bookies have not stopped taking bets yet on Newcastle qualifying for the Champions League. But they are within touching distance and the odds now reflect that.
United are now 92.6% certain to be playing in the Champions League next season according to most bookies with odds of 1/28 to get there with Spred Ex. Victory on Sunday on Southampton would put Newcastle another step closer and it will be up to other teams to worry about the maths.
Three or four wins from the last six matches may well be enough. But Newcastle have given themselves room for error too.
