Newcastle United will be looking to build on their pair of victories over Fulham and Brentford when they travel to Manchester United on Sunday. The Magpies climbed into the top six with a 5-1 demolition of the Bees last Saturday and can leapfrog the Red Devils with a win at Old Trafford.
Although the Magpies last tasted victory at the Theatre of Dreams in December 2013, nine goals in their last two outings will provide them with a huge boost of confidence.
Eddie Howe has confirmed that Alexander Isak will be unavailable once again after missing the last two games with a thigh injury. The Newcastle boss revealed in his press conference: “Alexander Isak is making progress but he’s not available for this game. We’ve not picked up any new injuries.”

Howe did provide a promising update on Jonjo Shelvey, who returned to training after a calf injury, which has consigned him to the sidelines since July. Shelvey was “very close” to a return, although the trip to Manchester has come too early for the midfielder. Newcastle will still be without Karl Darlow, Matt Ritchie and long-term absentee Emil Krafth, but have not picked up any fresh injury setbacks.
Who would you pick to start for Newcastle at Old Trafford? Would you change a winning team or stick to the same XI that defeated Brentford? Allan Saint-Maximin and Joelinton are both pushing for a recall, while Matt Targett could be recalled in his usual left-back role.
