Pick your Newcastle United starting XI to face Manchester City amid Isak decision

Newcastle United cannot afford to linger on their Carabao Cup heartbreak as they return to Premier League action with an away trip to Manchester City. The Magpies' encounter with the defending champions kicks off the latest round of top-flight action, with the Etihad contest set to be televised on Saturday lunchtime.

Eddie Howe's side are looking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats and re-ignite their unlikely push for a top-four finish. Liverpool and Tottenham have both picked up victories since the Magpies were last in top-flight action, with just one league win in their last seven seeing them drop to fifth spot.

January signing Anthony Gordon and Martin Dubravka were cup-tied at Wembley, but will likely both return to the matchday squad. Nick Pope will return following his costly suspension, while Joe Willock and record signing Alexander Isak could both be in contention to start.

The Magpies boss made three changes to his starting eleven for the cup final defeat to Manchester United, one of which was the enforced change in goal which saw Loris Karius make his competitive debut for the club.
