Pick your Newcastle United starting XI for Carabao Cup clash with Crystal Palace

Eddie Howe is expected to make changes to his Newcastle United starting eleven for the midweek Carabao Cup clash with Crystal Palace. The Magpies will be bidding to reach the fourth round when they host Patrick Vieira's side at St James' Park on Wednesday night.

Howe made just one change to his latest lineup for the comfortable win at Southampton, with Jacob Murphy replacing Joelinton after the number seven ruled out through suspension. However, with a home fixture against Chelsea to come on Saturday, the Magpies boss will likely turn to his squad for the third-round tie.

Elliot Anderson, Ryan Fraser, Jamaal Lascelles, and Matt Targett are among those likely to come into contention. Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson were both withdrawn during the 4-1 win at St Mary's, with the striker still feeling the effects of a recent illness.
