Oscar Piastri's F1 season continues to improve with a good showing in Miami sprint qualifying. (James Ross/AAP PHOTOS)

Oscar Piastri's Formula One season has a pulse again after a Lando Norris sprint qualifying pole headlined McLaren's return to the front in Miami.

Norris will start Saturday's (Sunday AEST) 19-lap dash from the front of grid after beating Mercedes' championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 0.222 seconds, with Piastri to start third.
