Masked Singer viewers are declaring with some conviction that they know who Phoenix is and now can't 'unhear' him, with the star in question being Kaiser Chiefs singer Ricky Wilson.
While characters like Knitting, who fans are sure is Claire Richards and Rhino, who had fans convinced he was Charlie Simpson, almost as soon as he started singing look like they'd had their identities unearthed, there has been more of an air of mystery over the identity of Phoenix, particularly given the apparent nods to Doctor Who.
However, after claiming to have recognised flickers of Ricky's voice in Phoenix's performances, of Loco in Acapulco and Get Lucky, eagle eyed Masked Singer viewers have also gone on the record with how a number of clues given in VTs and riddles so far also point in Ricky's direction - including one about football, with the Kaiser Chiefs also being the name of a South African team and the appearance sticks of rock, which looks like being a nod to the cover for Kaiser Chiefs' Souvenir album.

Prior to Saturday night's show giving 'hidden meanings' in each of the performances, the prospect of Ricky being Phoenix became a real talking point on Twitter. Sure beyond all doubt that it's former The Voice UK coach Ricky in the brightly coloured costume, one fan tweeted: "I love Phoenix! Has to be Ricky Wilson - one of my favourite singers and performers - and the clues are lining up to support it! Kaiser Chiefs were named after a football team. “Art imitates life” - Ricky was an art teacher."
Also confident of Phoenix being Ricky, another armchair detective posted: "It's Ricky Wilson. Sticks of rock and the football in the clues package VT both link to Kaiser Chiefs. Their album, Souvenir, had a stick of rock on the cover and the band took their name from the South African team that Lucas Radebe once played for. You're welcome," with a third, addressing other clues, commenting: "Ricky Wilson. The War of The Worlds music was playing during his intro clues. The mystery stuff could be his myths & legends podcast"
