Phoenix Brown made fans and admirers give her a double take this week as she paid tribute to her mother, Mel B, by recreating some of her most iconic looks from the Spice Girls.
The 23-year-old entrepreneur is the daughter of 47-year-old Mel and her former husband Jimmy Gulzar, also 47, who she was married to from 1998 until 2000.
Phoenix paid tribute to her mother in the days running up to Christmas as she posed for a number of snaps where she dressed as the Spice Girls legend.
Finding a suitable desert backdrop and changing into an animal-print top and short black skirt, Phoenix channelled her mother from one of the girl band’s biggest tunes.
Sharing the snaps on. Instagram and TikTok, Phoenix wrote: “Say you’ll be there - music video shoot (1996).”
In the series of photos, she posed, punched and laughed towards the camera - perfectly capturing the same images her mother created almost thirty years before.
The snaps were a hit with followers - with former Love Island star Chloe Burrows branding the snaps ‘F***ing SIIICCKKJ”.
While another follower gasped: “OMG!!! You look the same. Feels like yesterday. As if it was 26 years ago.”
Phoenix’s homage to Say You’ll Be There was not the only shoot she recreated, however, as the following day she shared even more snaps.
This time, she unleashed photos along with a caption reading: "Spice up your life album cover - 1997," alongside a lipstick emoji.
Photos showed Phoenix mimicking the poses her mother struck while promoting the Spice Girls’ second album.
She managed to find a similar style pair of patterned harem pants and a matching bra-top while striking various poses for the cameras.
This time fans including The Games contestants Christine McGuinness, Chelcee Grimes and Olivia Attwood were lavishing praise - branding the snaps “Unreal”, “stunnnn” and “beautiful” respectively.
After divorcing Phoenix’s father, Mel eventually moved on and married producer Stephen Belafonte with their marriage lasting form 2007 until 2017.
Mel is due to marry for a third time having confirmed in October her boyfriend Rory McPhee proposed to her.
Discussing the moment Rory popped the question, Mel revealed during an appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox: “He said ‘I love you, you’re my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you’.
“There were rose petals everywhere, a log fire, a hotel - which was Cliveden. It was very romantic. I love flowers.”
Meanwhile, the Spice Girls are tipped to reform next year to perform at Glastonbury as part of celebrations of the 25th anniversary of their film, Spiceworld.
Appearing on Channel 4 's The Big Narstie Show earlier this month, Co-host Mo Gilligan asked: "So you are playing Glastonbury?", leaving Mel to coyly respond: "Yes, I think so! But I’ve got to convince the four b*****s to do it with me!"
Mo continued: "So the Spice Girls are playing Glastonbury?" - before Mel playfully backtracked: "Stop it, stop it! I never said that!"
