Phillip Schofield has quit This Morning after 20 years but ITV already has plans in place for the presenter who is set to take on a new "peak time series" with the broadcaster. The 61-year-old announced he would be leaving the show with a lengthy statement on Saturday, May 20 amid rumours of a feud with his co-host Holly Willoughby.
Following the breaking news, ITV has shared the presenter's future plans. In a statement, that was released at the same time as Phil's, Kevin Lygo, ITV’s Managing Director, Media and Entertainment said: "Phillip is hands down one of the best broadcasters of his generation and we thank him for his two decades worth of absolutely terrific television on the This Morning sofa.
"This Morning is made by one of the best and most diligent teams in television, who produce over 12 hours of live television each week."
