Phillip Schofield returned to ITV's This Morning on Monday, April 17 and thanked viewers for supporting him during his absence. Phil, who usually co-hosts the ITV1 daytime show with Holly Willoughby, had been replaced by a series of stand-in presenters in recent weeks.
Phil's brother, Timothy Schofield, went on trial at the end of March and has been convicted of 11 sexual offences against an underage boy, including two of sexual activity with a child, and during the court case in Exeter, the star gave evidence. Opening his first show back on This Morning Phil said the support he received was "really appreciated".
He said: "I wanted to say that is it really lovely to be back, I have missed the show, everyone here, and also to you I wanted to say thank you for all your kind messages and support which were really appreciated, thank you very much indeed." Before then saying: "On with the show!"

Phil was joined on the sofa by Rochelle Humes instead of Holly, as Holly is currently poorly. Taking to Instagram, the television host explained she is suffering from shingles and will be absent while she recovers.
Sharing the news on its official social media accounts on Sunday night, This Morning said: "Tomorrow at 10am on ITV1 and STV, it’s welcome back after the Easter holidays to Phillip and get better soon to Holly who’s off ill for a few days." Holly also posted on her social media, she said: "Hi... Just to let you know I may be away for the rest of the week as I have Shingles. I'll be back as soon as I'm better. Huge love. Holly xxx."
