Former ITV presenter Phillip Schofield has revealed he still hopes to return to a TV career in future, whilst admitting it's "all gone" currently.
The star hit the headlines when news of his concealed affair with a younger colleague emerged has now spoken out in interviews to The Sun and to The BBC to reveal his side of the story.
The presenter left This Morning in May after 21 years on the show amid rumours of a 'feud' with co-presenter Holly Willoughby before the news of his affair and 'toxic' behaviour on set broke. As a result he has been dropped by ITV and his management.
Now the former presenter has revealed he still hopes to return to TV in future.
Speaking in a tell-all interview with The Sun, the 61-year-old revealed that whilst he has no idea what the future holds for his career, he hopes one day he could return to a job in TV.
He then added: "I don’t know whether anyone would want my name linked to them.
"But that’s all gone. I have to come to terms with that."
Phillip also revealed that he's hit such a low in the wake of news of his affair that he feels "broken" and has "lost everything".
The TV star spoke in his interview with the BBC and revealed he didn't think he would be here if it wasn't for his daughters Molly and Ruby watching over him.
He said: "If my girls hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t be here. Because I don’t see a future.
"How much do you want a man to take – and are you truly only happy when he’s dead? This is now Caroline Flack felt and it didn’t stop."
The star also told the BBC that he had "brought myself down to a far greater degree than you could ever have done."
He continued: "I have to talk about television in past tense, which breaks my heart, but it continues and it is relentless day after day.
"If you don’t think that is going to have the most catastrophic effect on someone’s mind. Do you want me to die? Because that’s where I am.
"All these people that write all of that stuff, do they ever think there is a person at the end?"
