Phillip Schofield shared a cryptic quote about 'falling and not getting things right' amid a reported 'feud' with Holly Willoughby.
The pair hosted a segment on This Morning today about exam stress, as they urged viewers to call in with their own stresses about exams or that of their children, with an expert on hand to help and support them with their worries.
As they chatted to a young woman called 'Zoe', who admitted she struggled with the pressure of being a perfectionist and that stress she caused, Phil shared a quote he had saved when he saw it about falling and getting back up again.
Speaking directly to 'Zoe', he said: "I've got a really good quote, which I saved, which I cannot for the life of me read the whole thing now. What I'm going to do is, I'm going to send it to the team who can forward it onto you. Read that quote."
He then went on to explain what the quote was about, including: "It's all about sometimes you just don't get it right, sometimes you fail. Sometimes you fall and get back up again. It's all of those things, everyone does."
Reports over the weekend suggested the friendship between Holly and Phil off-screen had 'cooled'.
It caused Phil to issue a bombshell statement, where he said both of them had a rough few weeks. He shared: "The last few weeks haven't been easy for either of us. My family went through a real ordeal. And Holly's support throughout meant the world to me, as did the support of my bosses at ITV, my editor Martin Frizell and the whole This Morning family, including our amazing viewers."
Sources confirmed to The Mirror that Phil’s position on the show is "looking increasingly precarious".
The insider recently told us of what is coming up for the pair: "Phil’s position is looking increasingly precarious. Monday is very much D-day, but the same could apply to any day next week. No one is bigger than the brand."
Separate sources confirmed to another publication that "seismic changes" were in store this summer.
"This Morning is preparing for some seismic changes this summer — and Phil is lined up as the first major name for the chop when his contract expires this summer. It’s highly unlikely he’ll be back in September," they said.
