Phillip Schofield's brother Timothy has been fired from his job at Avon and Somerset Police after his sex abuse trial where he was found guilty.
Timothy, 54, was found guilty earlier this month at Exeter Crown Court of sexually abusing a teenage boy over three years. He is due to be sentenced next month.
This Morning presenter Phillip said after the trial that as far as he's concerned "I no longer have a brother."
Now Avon and Somerset Police, where Timothy worked, has confirmed that he has been dismissed without notice following a misconduct hearing yesterday.
Assistant Chief Constable Will White, who chaired the meeting, outlined the findings of the panel, saying: “The details and impact of his criminality were distressing to read for the panel, as they would be for members of the public.
