Phillip Schofield was quick to apologise to This Morning viewers after a guest broke a golden TV rule while appearing on the show. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime programme alongside Holly Willoughby on Thursday (September 22).
During the programme, Holly and Phillip were joined on the sofa by fitness guru James Smith. He was there to chat to the hosts about confidence and how and what people can do to improve theirs.
But, as he explained how his friends would ridicule him for going into personal training, he accidentally swore - which is a big 'no no' when it comes to daytime TV. James had explained how his friends didn't think he should turn to fitness as a full-time job.

However, he has since gone on to prove them wrong. He quickly amassed a significant social media following for his no-nonsense approach to health and fitness and the online PT is well-known for his 'outing' of false influencers. He is also a three times No.1 Sunday Times Best Selling Author and has his own podcast.
Speaking to Holly, 41, and Phillip, 60, James said: "I had a lot of friends trying to talk me out of becoming a personal trainer. My rugby mates, for years, were always taking the p*** out of me."
Following his swearing blunder, the camera quickly switched to Holly and Phillip and the latter immediately looked down the lens and quietly mouthed 'sorry' for the swearing.
James then carried on: "I used to write blogs and articles and they'd come out and be like, 'Smithy, can we eat carbohydrates?' or we'd be having a meal after the game and they'd be like you can't eat that and three, four years into posting into social media every day, it was only when you got past that point, four years in that I got my first online client."
But This Morning viewers quickly turned the situation on the hosts as they still rage over the presenters 'queue jump' saga. Fans still haven't accepted Holly and Phillip's explanation s to why they were seen inside Westminster Hall during the Queen lying in state.
Tens of thousands of people have signed a petition to have them 'axed' from the show after Holly explained in a voiceover during a VT why they were able to enter Westminster Hall and how they didn't file past the Queen's coffin like those who had queued for hours to pay their final respects.
Holly did, however, admit that the presenters "understood the reaction". Holly stressed: "We respected the rules. We realise it may look like something else. Please know we would never jump a queue."
@fragglerock41 tweeted: "#ThisMorning and there we have it, Phil apologises for a guest saying 'p**s' but didn’t have the nuts to do it for the queue." @DebsGlyn had earlier said: "If they just held their hands up and made an apology this would be over now and they would be yesterday’s news. #thismorning."
